Tim Nash

Tim Nash is a search engine optimisation and Reputation management consultant from the UK he is also the co-founder of Venture Skills a New media company, funnily enough in the UK.

But who is Tim Nash? well lets ask him

Tim who are you?

Well I’m Tim Nash an IT consultant who specialises in Search engine optimisation and information retrieval, I have a very mixed background some academic and some technical today I split my time between blogging, clients and students.

So what are your hobbies?

Well I’m pretty sad I actually like to sit down and break things, but to be fair I do put them back together and some times they even work. I was the sort of kid who took phones to bits and then found out they had spare parts. Apart from that I’m a keen photographer, love reading and I’m pretty in to these things called computers?

So are the rest of your family computer literate?

Totally the Nash family is very much a digital one and my pa Tony Nash has his own site as well as one for his Font collection he is a calligrapher. Likewise my mum was programming pigs on a BBC B in the 80s even my ex wife is pretty literate.

So your not the technical support for the family?

hmmm what do you think the Nash family maybe literate but its always Tim who gets the families infected machines however I do tend to get a Sunday roast or Cider collection so I shouldn’t complain.

What made you get into search engine optimisation?

I love algorithms and mathematics I also like the idea that with work pages can rank well, then I discovered the social media aspect. I think this is perhaps the nicest subsect of web development to work in as a community the SEO/SEM community are a very close nit bunch.

So Page Rank is it important

Why do you not rank for your own name?

hmm I know its bad, I mean I always use to then 1 day it went away perhaps Google stopped loving me?

Did you do something to stop this love?

Where do you see the future of Search engine optimisation

Well the rate Google is going I guess it will be less search engine optimisation and more wikipedia optimisation. I see myself more and more moving into the reputation management side of SEO this is where I find the most enjoyment I really am quite egotistical and quite like being a sudo puppet master please insert your own evil laughs.

What about the lack of ranking for Tim Nash

Well I can always change my name, but just think of the brand management maybe Google will give me my name back who knows?
