“New Media loosely describes those forms of communication and art enabled by computing technology. We currently use “New Media” to provide a broadly accurate (but also somewhat imprecise) sense of those communications, technologies, and artworks made possible or actual by advances in digital computing. “New Media” communication environments are readily interactive, which opens new possibilities for conversation and feedback.”

so we’re glad we have cleared that problem up, still confused? here is what we mean by New Media
“New media is an industry buzz term for anything thats not quite traditional form of media such as tv, radio and print, the vast majority of new media is audio/visual based technology which is delivered to a user in a non traditional way such as over the internet or to an unusual device such as a phone. The fact that such techniques are today common place and with the advent of youtube and similar technologies does make the term “new” seem rather well out of place I like to think of “new media” simply as an extension of existing mediums”

So are we all clear now new media is actually nothing except a buzz word, why do we use it to describe our company, a company that claims to be above buzz word usage…
Can you think of a better way to describe us in two words?
So what about the quotation marks?
well we are cowards and have no real conviction for the word new media by encapsulating it in quotation marks we are hoping to emphasis the buzz term for what it is also it will make find and replace easier when we find a better term
So what does a “new media” company do?
Good question, we are primarily a web development and IT company, which has an interest in video and audio production, we develop on-line applications that use a range of mediums, including video streaming, audio podcasts etc. This is on top of the usual branding and marketing services normally offered.
