One of my favourite comedians is a man called Dave Gorman who first made his name trying to find other Dave Gormans and later went on to go around the world on tour talking about googlewhacks. Why do I bring this piece of mindless trivia to you well simply I want to tell you I’m Tim Nash the IT consultant not the painter who’s landscapes are very nice, and not the Tim Nash who’s grip appears in such films as Mr & Mrs Smith.
So how easily is it to make sure you are found, well lets find out today is the start of the Tim Nash experiment the aim is simple to be the number 1 for the search Tim Nash in the shortest space of time, now if I whack up a web site such as timnash.me.uk it will naturally make its climb up the search rankings but I want to help it along. So to help this I’m using several small tricks to create the brand Tim Nash, first I need to make sure that people can find me my natural username is tnash which I use on del.icio.us, ClaimID, and linkedIn. I must therefore link the two separate brands Tim Nash the IT Consultant and tnash the anonymous web user.
The easy thing is to make sure all the sites link together and uniformed so introducing the newest of my tags tim.nash I have replaced in my claimID and del.icio.us accounts any reference to me with tim.nash why well partly because me is such a silly name for a tag and partly because it will help search engines to located me, and within a couple of days the result can be seen a search for Tim Nash on google shows both my claimID and del.icio.us accounts on the front page not bad.
So on with the show how long before the number one spot and after that I will reveal part 2 of the Tim Nash the IT Consultant experiment as well as explaining a few more tricks .
