Firefox 2.0 is it any good?

Reviews are coming in as you would expect along with the tweak guides here are just a few of the more relevant ones.

5 out 14 of my extensions failed to work theses were

  • refspoof (not updated yet see below)
  • fasterfox (now updated)
  • colourful tabs (now updated)
  • qute (now updated)
  • tab mix plus (not really needed anymore) (updated anyway)

On the plus side Firefox 2.0 ran without a hitch and it has simply disabled the extensions sorry Add-ons so that when a new version is released I presume it will auto update them. The inbuilt spell checker is kind of cool but has as expect defaulted to American English, alternate dictionaries here. The new theme is a bit ugly the curved corner effect not really working all that well.

So far its good, get your copy here…

Firefox 2.0

UPDATE:

Well due to Google ranking system we are the current number 1 search if your looking for information of refspoof and Firefox 2.0 and I didn’t realise how many budding security experts there were out there wanting to test their own sites security!! the bad news is refspoof is still not updated officially check out this thread for more information however I’m running the beta code and it appears fine get the code from here

The biggest difference is I seem to be using more extensions and I don’t really know why? My Firefox install were already pretty “pimped” up but I seem to have gone overboard with all the extras. A couple of things really stick out these include the dictionary function which is fantastic! though I seemed to have some how lost the check by default it was easy to get back I also changed it to check every field not just multi line fields by [...]
