Just a quick thing for those who maybe struggling with naming their company use proper nouns! Don’t fall into the trap we have at Venture Skills in using common words why? Well its simply a matter of punctuation I have written the name Venture Skills over a thousand times and I still forget to use capitals simply because I have used the word skills many thousand times more I suppose. I am not the greatest writer and have at times some appalling grammar. But if you don’t give your company respect who will?
That said from terms of SEO having a keyword in your company name is not a bad thing particularly when you come to naming your domain. If your stuck for ideas Darren Rowse of problogger.net has a very detailed article on the subject though it is aimed at Bloggers rather then companies its still a really good source. His final tip is well worth reading its important to start with a clean slate and the last thing you want to do is have to clean up some one else’s problem. The answer is to check via Whois to see if the domain had previously been deleted from the DNS system.
So maybe you just have to put up with the constant going back to edit your own name…
